Privacy Policy

Vyne (“we”, “us”) is a private app for two people in a relationship. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: arunrajiah@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Account info — your name and email address, provided when you sign up with email or sign in with Google. Used to create your account and pair you with your partner.
• Content you create — daily-question answers, drawings, game results, “firsts”, time-capsule letters, photos, and voice notes. Stored so you and your partner can see them in your shared space.
• Technical basics — a push-notification token (if you enable notifications) and standard error/diagnostic information needed to run the service.

We do not collect your precise location.

How we use it

• To operate the app: pairing, syncing your shared space, delivering pulses and notes, showing your daily question, growing your vine, and sending notifications you enable.
• To keep the service secure and working.

We do not use your content for advertising, and we never sell it.

Who can see your content

• Your partner — the one person you pair with. That’s the point of Vyne.
• No one else. Access is enforced at the database level (row-level security): our systems only serve your couple’s data to the two of you. Media files are private and served through short-lived signed links.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of processors to run the app:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Expo — push-notification delivery.
• Google — if you choose “Sign in with Google”, Google authenticates you and shares your name and email with us. See Google’s privacy policy for their handling.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.

Data retention & deletion

• Your content is kept while your vyne is active.
• Ending your vyne starts a 30-day grace period during which either partner can restore it. After 30 days, all of the couple’s data — messages, moments, games, photos, voice notes, and scores — is permanently and irreversibly deleted, including the underlying files.
• You may request full account deletion at any time. See Delete your data.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your shared space is restricted to your couple and enforced server-side. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

Vyne is intended for adults in a relationship and is not directed to children. Do not use Vyne if you are under the age required by law in your country to consent to processing of your personal data (at least 13, or higher where applicable).

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, notifying you in the app.
